1. Definitions:

1. "Riz Remit", "We", "Us", "Our" means Riz Remit Limited.

2. "You", "Your" means the individual using our services.

3. "Services" means money transfer and related payment services provided by Riz Remit.

4. "Website or Mobile Application" means our online platforms used to access our services.

5. "Sender" means the person initiating a money transfer.

6. "Receiver" means the person receiving the transferred funds.

7. "Transaction" means a money transfer initiated through our services.

8. "Card Issuer" means the financial institution that issued your debit or credit card.

9. "Bank Card" means a debit or credit card used to fund a transaction.

10. "Business Day" means a day when financial institutions in Canada are open.

11. "Applicable Law" includes all relevant Canadian laws, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), regulations, guidance from FINTRAC, sanctions laws, privacy laws, and any other laws governing our operations.

12. "Paid out" means when the money actually credited to beneficiary bank account.

13. "Processed out" means after verification from compliance the transaction processed further to our payout partner for payout.

2. Introduction & Company Information:

Riz Remit Limited is a Money Services Business (MSB) registered under Canadian law, with MSB Registration No. C10001409. Our operational headquarters are located at Saxon House, 27 Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex, England, CM1 1HT. We are regulated by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) to provide money transfer services in accordance with applicable Canadian legislation. We provide secure, fast, and reliable international money transfer services through our website and mobile application.

By accessing or using our services, you confirm that you understand and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions are drafted in the English language. Any translation is provided for convenience only. In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail. If you are a resident of the Province of Quebec, a French version of these Terms and Conditions will be provided upon request or made available in accordance with applicable Quebec law.

3. Contract Formation:

Each transaction submitted forms a separate legal contract governed by these Terms and Conditions. By initiating a transaction, you:

  • Authorize Riz Remit to process your payment.
  • Confirm that information provided is accurate.
  • Agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Riz Remit may amend these terms and Conditions at any time to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational changes. Updated terms will be published on our website or mobile application and will apply to all transactions initiated after the effective date. Continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Riz Remit reserves the right to refuse, delay, or cancel a transaction where:

  • Fraud or financial crime is suspected
  • Sanctions concerns arise
  • Regulatory requirements prevent completion
  • Identity cannot be verified
  • Incorrect or insufficient information is provided

4. Eligibility to Use Our Services:

To use our services, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be legally capable of entering a binding agreement
  • Provide accurate personal and transaction information
  • Comply with all applicable laws

Our services may not be used for illegal, prohibited, or commercial purposes including:

  • Fraud, scams, or deception
  • Cryptocurrency purchases
  • Gambling
  • Investment schemes
  • Escrow or trust services
  • Charity collections without authorization
  • Third-party or unknown beneficiary payments

Transfers to or from certain countries, territories, persons, or entities may be restricted or prohibited due to sanctions, regulatory, or risk considerations. A list of restricted corridors may be updated from time to time and made available upon request or through our platforms.

We onboard individual customers only and do not support corporate/commercial transactions unless explicitly stated and approved. We reserve the right to refuse onboarding or terminate access where customer risk exceeds our internal risk appetite.

5. How Our Services Work:

Funding Transactions

You may fund transactions via:

  • Debit Card
  • Credit Card
  • Bank Transfer

Receiving Funds

Funds may be collected:

  • Into a bank account
  • Mobile Wallet Account
  • As cash pickup

Where cash pickup is selected, the Receiver must present:

  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Transaction reference
  • Sender details
  • Any additional compliance information required

6. Delivery Timeframes:

Estimated delivery times are indicative only and not guaranteed. Delivery times depend on:

  • Receiving country and payout partner
  • Compliance checks and sanctions screening
  • Correct beneficiary information
  • Agent liquidity and local banking schedules

Transfers generally complete promptly but may take more time due to any issue in the above-mentioned variables. Riz Remit is not responsible for delays beyond its reasonable control.

7. Irreversibility:

Once funds are processed out or paid out to the recipient's account, the transaction cannot be cancelled or reversed.

8. Regulatory Compliance & Sanctions:

Riz Remit complies with:

  • PCMLTFA
  • FINTRAC regulations and guidance
  • United Nations sanctions
  • OSFI sanctions directives
  • Other relevant international sanctions frameworks

We may:

  • Verify your identity using secure methods
  • Request supporting documents at any time
  • Suspend, delay, or block a transaction pending review
  • Report suspicious activity to FINTRAC without notifying you

Your cooperation with compliance requests is required. Failure to cooperate may result in suspension or termination of services.

9. Fraud Awareness & Security:

To protect yourself:

  • Do not send money to unknown or unverified persons
  • Avoid requests involving romance scams, investments, cryptocurrency, lottery winnings, or impersonation of authorities

Riz Remit will never ask for:

  • Passwords
  • Full card details
  • One Time Password (OTP)
  • CVV/CVC security codes

We do not permanently store your full card details. If you suspect fraud, contact us immediately. You are responsible for:

  • Securing login credentials
  • Logging out after use
  • Updating passwords regularly

Failure to follow security guidance may result in service restrictions.

10. Fees, Exchange Rates & Charges:

  • All fees and exchange rates are disclosed before confirmation
  • Exchange rates may include a margin and may differ from market/public rates
  • Additional charges may be applied by banks, intermediaries, or payout partners

If a transaction is cancelled before payout:

  • Applicable fees
  • Foreign exchange differences may be deducted

11. Card Payments & Chargebacks:

Where transactions are funded by debit or credit card, you acknowledge that chargebacks or card disputes may be investigated by the card issuer. Riz Remit reserves the right to suspend or terminate services where chargebacks, reversals, or disputed transactions occur. Any amounts reversed may be recovered from you.

12. Refunds & Cancellation:

You may request cancellation only if the transaction is not yet processed out.

Refunds:

  • Are returned via the original funding method
  • May take up to 30 business days
  • Require AML/compliance clearance
  • Cannot be requested after 13 months

Refunds may be refused where:

  • Funds are already paid out
  • Fraud/compliance breach is identified
  • Regulatory restrictions apply

Refund timelines may vary depending on the original payment method and financial institution.

13. Error Resolution:

If you believe an error has occurred, you must notify us promptly. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe, in accordance with applicable law, typically within 30 business days. Additional time may be required where third-party banks, agents, or regulatory reviews are involved.

14. Limitation of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riz Remit is not responsible for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Lost profits
  • Banking or partner delay
  • Delays caused by compliance reviews
  • Losses due to incorrect beneficiary information
  • Exchange rate fluctuations
  • Events beyond reasonable control

Our total liability shall not exceed the transaction amount plus paid fees. Nothing in these terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

15. Suspension & Termination:

Riz Remit may suspend or terminate your access to services at any time where required by law, regulatory obligation, risk management, or breach of these Terms, without prior notice where legally permitted.

16. Assignment & Third-Party Rights:

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms. Riz Remit may assign its rights to an affiliate or successor without notice. No third party has rights under these terms.

17. Privacy & Data Protection:

We process personal information in accordance with PIPEDA and applicable privacy laws. We may share data only where legally required or operationally necessary, including with:

  • Regulators
  • Law enforcement
  • Correspondent and Payout partners
  • Fraud prevention bodies

We use your data for:

  • Transaction processing
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Customer support

Riz Remit does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for determining whether our services are suitable for your needs.

18. Handling of Customer Funds:

Funds received from you are held solely for the purpose of executing your transaction in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and are transmitted to the intended recipient or returned to you, as applicable. Funds may be held with regulated third-party financial institutions for the purpose of payment processing.

19. Electronic Communications:

You agree that Riz Remit may contact you electronically regarding:

  • Transaction updates
  • Additional information requests
  • Service notifications

You may withdraw consent where legally permitted; however, this may affect service availability.

20. Monitoring & Recording:

Riz Remit may monitor and record communications with you, including telephone calls and electronic communications, for training, quality assurance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance purposes, in accordance with applicable law.

21. Force Majeure:

We are not liable for failure or delay due to events outside our reasonable control including, but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest
  • Telecommunications or system failures
  • Service disruptions
  • Government actions

Where delays exceed 30 days, either party may terminate the contract with written notice.

22. Dormant / Unclaimed Transactions:

If a transaction cannot be completed due to:

  • Incorrect beneficiary details
  • Regulatory restrictions
  • Refusal or failure to collect

We may cancel the transaction and issue a refund, subject to legal and compliance checks.

23. Transaction Limits:

We may apply limits based on:

  • Customer profile
  • Transaction value
  • Frequency
  • Receiving country risk
  • Payout Method

These limits may change without prior notice for regulatory or risk reasons.

24. Agent Network Disclaimer:

Agents operate independently. Riz Remit is not responsible for services or products offered by agents unrelated to Riz Remit's services.

25. Severability:

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed modified or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

26. Waiver:

Any failure or delay by Riz Remit in exercising or enforcing any right or provision under these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision, nor shall it affect Riz Remit's ability to enforce such right or provision at any later time.

27. Entire Agreement:

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Riz Remit relating to the services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, representations, or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Services.

28. Survival:

Any provisions of these Terms and Conditions which by their nature should survive termination or expiration, including but not limited to provisions relating to regulatory compliance, limitation of liability, privacy and data protection, dispute resolution, and complaints, shall survive such termination or expiration.

29. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution:

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable provincial laws. Any controversy, dispute, or claim arising out of or relating to the Service or terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada.

Where permitted by law, disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class or representative action.

We will:

  • Acknowledge complaints promptly
  • Aim to resolve complaints within 15 business days
  • Where more time is required, provide an update and final response within 35 days

Where necessary, we may involve our payout partner or advise you to contact them directly. If you are not satisfied with our final response, you may have the right to escalate your complaint to relevant regulatory or consumer protection authorities.
